História de uma Gaivota e do Gato que a Ensinou a Voar

História de uma Gaivota e do Gato que a Ensinou a Voar - Luis Sepúlveda, Pedro Tamen given to me by zé on some birthday

I read this book in about an hour or so, but I just loved it so! My mother had been hassling me to read for the past 5 years or so, but I kept dismissing her. I’m glad I finally took her advice!
One day, a seagull caught in an oilspill lands in the balcony where a cat named Zorbas lives. Before she sadly passes away, she manages to lay an egg, and makes Zorbas promise her that he’ll teach the baby how to fly. Unsure of what to do, Zorbas agrees, bound by cat honour.
It’s a really endearing story, short, with plenty of dialogue, but it was just so vivid in my mind. There are some critics to the harm humans are doing to Nature, and those parts made me a bit sad, but this book left me smiling. Each chapter is also accompanied with a beautiful greyscale illustration, which I loved as well.
